More detail on this person: Dr. Jerry V. Brewster was born Jan. 18, 1942, in Salina, Kan., the son of H.M. and Lucille Brewster. He was a dentist in Marianna.

He was a graduate of Salina High School, a 1965 gradate of the Kansas State University School of Architecture and the University of Kentucky School of Dentistry. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta.

He was a pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps and a medical evacuations helicopter pilot in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard, retiring with the rank of colonel.
