More detail on this person: Loyd Alfred Brewer age 73 of Nashville passed away Saturday February 15, 2014. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Joe and Flora Newman Brewer. He was also preceded in death by a sister; Geneva Green and a brother; Lee Brewer.

Funeral service will be 1:00pm Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Kevin Dye officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

Mr. Brewer is survived by his son; Dave Brewer of Nashville, brother; Jerry Brewer and his wife Debbie of Mississippi, sisters; Ida Brewer of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Faye Leonard of Loretto, Tennessee, former wife Linda Brewer of Nashville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brewer was a member of Leanna Church of Christ, He also was a dedicated member of the Army National Guard for 27 years as a Chief Maintenance Officer and Master Army Airman, piloting and Maintaining OH-13, OH-23 and UH1 Helicopters and achieving the rank of -Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CW4)- Mr. Brewer also a corporate pilot for Murray Ohio Manufacturing Corp. in Brentwood Tn. and served as Chief Pilot of their Jet Ranger and Aerospatiale Dolphin SA-360 helicopters, also pilot for their Rockwell Sabreliner Jet N-265. Mr. Brewer continue his love for aviation through the years as owner operator of The Air Academy flight school at Smyrna Airport, instructing and helping many others that share his Passion for the Skies.
