More detail on this person: Bruce E. Bomberger, 73, of Lebanon, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Xuan Nguyen Bomberger. Born at the U.S. Army Hospital, Camp Gordon, Augusta, GA on December 11, 1950, he was the son of the late Russell Bomberger and Irene Zimmerman Lash. He was a member of the Northern Lebanon High School Class of 1968. Following high school, he joined the Army and fought in the Vietnam Conflict as a Huey Helicopter Pilot with the 117th Assault Helicopter Company. Following his service, he worked for over 10 years at the Lebanon Steel Foundry. He worked for several more years until his retirement from the Navy Ship Parts Control Center (NAV SPCC). He was a lifetime avid hunter and fisherman. After retirement, he continued making memories with family and friends, enjoying life even more. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Lena Walters of Harrisburg and Lori wife of Jason Bowen of Hampstead, NC; sister Candy wife of Mark Thompson; two grandchildren: Joshua Bruce Bowen and Juliana Lynlee Bowen; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends that affectionately knew him as "Uncle Bruce." He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Bomberger. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown. A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Following the interment, the family would like to invite everyone to join in a continuation of Bruce's Celebration of Life at the ECS Eagle's Landing, 110 Landing Dr., Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Children's Miracle Network.
