More detail on this person: He died of alcohol poisoning. He is survived by a son, LTC Christopher J. Boniface, USMC, and 4 children, in Wilmington, NC., and his former wife Karen Boniface-Johnson. He is also survived by one brother, Dr. John Boniface, Fredricksburg, VA. Unfortunately, he wanted to be cremated, and there was no service in Panama City, Florida.

To those of us who had the honor of serving with our fellow Outlaw in Vinh Long, Al Boniface was the epitome of the professional aviator, always steady and reliable, a calming voice in the chaos of an insertion. Although I knew him only a few short weeks before his DEROS, I knew him to be the consummate professional Warrant Officer, highly regarded by peers and by his commander, who relied on Al to function as C&C in his stead.
