More detail on this person: Richard "Dick"
Brislin, 72, passed away September 1, 2010. He
was born in Monterey Park, CA and moved to
Florida in 1978. Dick proudly served his country
in the U.S. Army for approximately 22 years as an
Airborne Ranger and served two tours in the
Vietnam War. During his first tour he was a
Platoon Leader in the 25th Infantry. During his
second tour he was a helicopter pilot. One of his
proudest accomplishments in the military was being
a master parachutist. Dick enjoyed fishing and
making custom fishing rods and loved doing things
for other people, family always came first.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years,
Sonja Brislin; sons, Bryan Brislin and Richard
(Cindy) Brislin; sisters, Darlene Clevenger and
Charlene Ellis, of Clatskanie, OR; and
grandchildren, Meagan Renee Brislin and Tyler
Andrew Brislin, of Riverview, FL. He was preceded
in death by his sister, Sherrie Cooper of Laguna
Beach, CA.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m.,
Monday, September 6th in the chapel of
Quinn-Shalz, A Family Funeral Home of
Jacksonville Beach.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the
American Cancer Society, 1430-B, Prudential Dr.,
Jacksonville, FL 32207.
