More detail on this person: LIINCOLNTON, Ga. - Col. George Lawson Ball, U.S. Army Retired, 83 of Plantation Circle died Thursday, May 17 at his residence. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on June 19, 2007 at 9 a.m. Col. Ball, a native of Chester County, Tn. was retired from the U.S. Army after 34 years of service. During his career, he served in WWII, Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. Following his retirement, he taught special education in the Richmond County School System. Mr. Ball was an avid tennis player. Survivors: wife: Penny Krause Ball; daughters: Missy Ball, Kitty Ball, and Meg Ball all of Lincolnton; son: David Ball, Lincolnton. The family will be sitting shiva and receiving friends from 3pm-9pm Sunday. Monday, and Tuesday at the residence.
