More detail on this person: FAIRHOPE, AL - James Jerry Boyington, Sr, age 70, a native of Bay Minette and a longtime resident of Fairhope, passed away Friday, September 28, 2007. A former and highly decorated Major in the United States Army, former Alabama State Senator, former Chairman of the Baldwin County Commission, former Baldwin County Commissioner, former Baldwin County Administrator and former Chief Corrections Officer for the Office of Sheriff for Baldwin County, served his country with honor and distinction, first in the uniform of the nation while serving in the United States Army and, thereafter, in the elected and non elected public service of the State of Alabama and Baldwin County. Jerry was preceded in death by his son, James Jerry Boyington, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Boyington; daughter, Shanna Boyington; sons, Chris (Amanda) Boyington all of Fairhope and Clay Boyington of Jacksonville, NC; grandson, James J. Boyington III; granddaughter, Anna Boyington; brother, Curtis (Georgia) Boyington; sisters, Lucille Adams, Foy Kusion and Jewell Boyington all of Mobile; mother-in-law, Lorene Dyson; brothers-in-law, Robert (Reta) Dyson and Walter (Judy) Dyson; sister-in-law, Kathy (Fred) Holland all of Ozark, AL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Monday, October 1, 2007, from 10:00 am until service time. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, on Monday at 11:00 am. Graveside services will follow in Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
