More detail on this person: WARRENVILLE, SC - Lt. Col. Dewey "Fitz" Fitzhugh Bratcher, Jr. was taken from his home by the Angel of Death on November 3, 2013. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he impacted greatly throughout his memorable life. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army after serving 21 years with 2 tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He is the hero to his wife Susan Dustin Bratcher; his 4 children: Dewan Bratcher, Chappell Howard, Skylar Bratcher, and the late Dewey Bratcher, III; granddaughter and 3 great-grandchildren. A private service will be held at a later date at his request. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his honor to the 1221st Route Clearance Company Fallen Soldier Memorial, checks payable to SSgt Frank Verant 146 Schley St Warrenville, SC 29851 Or Friends of the Gaston Livery Stable 433 Newberry St. SW Aiken, SC 29801. His life's motto was: "it's all good," and if you knew him, or even if you didn't, he loves you and there's nothing you can do about it.
