Entered into rest Thursday, September 16, 2004 at his residence. Lt. Col. (Ret.) Thomas Arthur Brown, Jr. of Bramblewood Trail, Augusta, Ga.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 20, 2004 at 1 p.m. from Barnes Avenue Friendship Chapel, Fort Gordon with Chaplain (Ret.) Michael Riddle officiating. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening, Sunday, September 19, 2004 at 5 until 6: p.m.

Lieutenant Colonel Thomas A. Brown, Jr. retired from the United States Army after 36 years of active and reserve duty.

Survivors are two daughters, Cheryl (William) Jones, Marietta, GA and Belvia (Terrence) Payne, Augusta, Ga.; one son, Rodney (Bridgett) Brown, Mableton, Ga.; one brother, Tommie (Sylvia) Simmons, New Bern, N.C.; three sisters, Nell Gibbs and Alfreda (Cliff) Collins, both of New Bern, N.C. and Mary Elaine (Herbert) Brown, Washington, D.C.; ten grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
