More detail on this person: VIRGINIA BEACH - Leo Cortner Bryan, 84, of the 5200 block of Shepparton Way, passed away March 29, 2011 in his home after a prolonged illness with Parkinson's disease. Born Feb. 10, 1927 in Kirk, Colo., he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Ratzlaff Bryan. He retired from the United States Army as a colonel after 30 years of service as a fixed and rotary wing aviator. He was a lifelong member of Church of the Nazarene. Col. Bryan is survived by his wife, Juanita Campbell Bryan; his children and their spouses, Paul and Linda Bryan of Charleston, S.C., Ron and Brenda Bryan of Oakton, Va., Jim and Cathy Bryan of Virginia Beach and Glenn and Colleen Bryan of Mount Vernon, Ohio; his grandchildren, Tim and Johanna Bryan of Columbia, S.C., Eric and Mira Bryan of Virginia Beach, Aimee Bryan of Davis, Calif., Steven and Emily Bryan of Nashville, Tenn., Jessica Bryan of Virginia Beach, Jennifer and Billy Hyde of Charleston, Amber Bryan of Columbus, Ohio and Beverly, Lydia and Alicia Bryan of Virginia Beach; a great-granddaughter, Savannah Bryan of Columbia, S.C. He was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Gibson and Bernice Nichols of Pasadena, Calif.; and two brothers, Everett Bryan and Isom Bryan of Kirk, Colo. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, April 9, at 2 p.m. at Tidewater Central Church of the Nazarene, 5514 Parliament Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 (757) 497-8703. A memorial fund in memory of Leo Bryan has been established with proceeds going to the building fund for the new church in Charlottesville. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
