More detail on this person: Barry, Major John J. Sr. 75, of Milo, ME, passed away July 12, 2015. He was born July 1, 1940, in Boston, MA, the son of Francis G. and Gladys E. (Leibig) Barry. John is survived by his wife Marie (Mikos) Barry; his son, John Barry, Jr; two daughters, Diane Arias and Julie Sorg; four brothers; five sisters; three granddaughters; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and his beloved dog, Moxie. Major Barry had served over 34 years with the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard, as a helicopter pilot and a search and rescue helicopter pilot. He had earned a Master's Degree in Education and had retired as a teacher from the Laveen School District in Arizona. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be conducted 12:00 noon Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, ME, with Fr. Paul Marquis officiating.
