More detail on this person: William C. (Craig) Batts, 56, of Lakehills, died Monday, June 25, 2001, at his residence. He was born April 10, 1945 in Rocky Mount, N.C. to William Cooper Batts and Doris Logan Batts. He married Eva Moore on Aug. 4, 2000 in Lakehills. She survives. Mr. Batts was a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving 24 years. He was a member of the Lakehills American Legion Post 410, and helped coach Little League Baseball in Lakehills. In addition to his wife Eva of Lakehills, survivors include his mother, Doris Batts of Rocky Mount, N.C.; two daughters, Maria Tillotson and husband Niles of Orlando, Fla., and Laura Leith and husband J.B. of Houston; one son, Vincent Hubbard of Lakehills; two step-children, Brian Castrejana of Austin and Christina Taylor and husband Trey of Houston; one sister, Jolene Sykes and husband Charlie of Boston, Mass.; and two grandchildren, Justin Terry Leith and Kendall Leith. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post 410, Lakehills, Texas 78063. Arrangements were under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapel of Bandera.
