Jumpin Joe, Oct. 22, 2014, last seen on heading
and course, full throttle forward, after burners
glowing. Last report passing through Angels 300
and approaching heaven. Joe was 87. PCS
(Permanent Change of Orders) and flight plan come
on the heels of a valiant battle with the effects
of Agent Orange. Received orders in Clearwater. At
last pilots' report, Subject Named Marine
indicated, "six" was clear. Joe's military career
spanned 32 years. He was qualified in 36 different
aircraft with 6,500 hours of flight time. Joe flew
fighter jets and later helicopters. Joe was the
lead pilot in ToraToraTora, flying the Japanese
Zero's with aeronautical precision. The chocks
have been pulled. Lt. Col. Beno is on his ultimate
solo flight. His personal rendezvous with destiny
has begun, his final mission underway. No doubt he
will join his fellow comrades patrolling the skies
and unlimited airspace of heaven. SNM will be
missed, but not forgotten. Semper Fi, Colonel,
Beno out....end of transmission. Service will be
at St. Cecilia's Church of Clearwater, at 6 pm,
Nov. 21.
