RAPID CITY - Harold Elwood "Corky" Benson Jr., 64, Rapid City, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

He was born July 7, 1947, in Houston, to Harold Elwood and Wilma Eloise (Lyon) Benson Sr. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Harold was a war hero, a true friend and a generous and honorable man. Rest in Peace.

Corky's memorial service will be held at a later date in Ohio.
