HURST -- Norman Paul Bohning, 59, passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at his home.

Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday in Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas with the Rev. Rosemary Oberhue, officiating. Family and friends will gather in Lane A of the cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Davis Funeral Chapel.

Norman was born Oct. 15, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Paul Andrew and Esther Pauline Dornkamp Bohning. He grew up in the small town of Belmond, Iowa, among the cornfields of his family's farm. Graduating from Alexander High School in 1962, he attended Mason City Junior College prior to entering the U.S. Army. Norman served his country in Vietnam as a warrant officer and helicopter pilot, and was awarded the Air Medal with four oak leaf clusters. In 1979, he received a bachelor's degree in religion from Texas Wesleyan University.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Andrew Bohning; and his sister, Rhoda Madison Kohler.

A long standing member of the First United Methodist Church of Bedford, Norman touched many lives in his time with us. He will be missed by many.

Survivors: Son, Jeffery Alan Bohning of Bedford; mother, Esther Bohning of Belmond, Iowa; brothers, Wayne Bohning of Beach Park, Ill. and Royce Bohning of Ames, Iowa; two nieces; five nephews; and fiancee, Mildred Ingram of Statesboro, Ga.
