More detail on this person: ELKO - Douglas M. Boner. 29, a former Elko resident, was killed in a helicopter crash outside of American Falls, Idaho Saturday evening. He was born Oct. 24, 1947 in Billings, Mont., and was a graduate of Elko High School. Boner had attended Warrant Officers Training School where he learned to fly helicopters and served with the Army in Vietnam. He had just formed a new company and was working on a crop dusting job when the accident occurred. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jasper C. Boner of Elko; brothers, Norman of Contact, Nev., and Dennis of Elko; sisters, Carol Micheli of Wells, Maria Carone of River Ranch (east of Elko) and Susan and Gail Boner, both of Elko. Recitation of the Rosary is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Burns Funeral Home, Elko. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Elko, with burial to follow at the Elko Veterans Cemetery.
