More detail on this person: Funeral services for David Lewis Breed, 43, of Abbeville, La., were
set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Croley Chapel. Dr. Jerry L. Daniel, Sr. was to officiate, with
burial to be at Sunset Memorial Park.
Mr. Breed died April 23 in a helicopter crash off the coast of Louisiana.
Born Dec. 3, 1947 in Atalla, Ala., he lived in Diana and attended public schools there, later
transferring to Gilmer High School where he graduated in 1966. He was a helicopter pilot, and was a
member of the First Baptist Church of Abbeville, La. He was a retired member of the U.S. Marine
Corps.
He is survived by three sons, Clint Breed of Greenville, N.C., Todd Breed of Havelock, N.C., and
Josh Breed of Baton Rouge, La.; two brothers, Kermit Breed of Mt. Juliet, Tenn. and Dr. Jerry Daniel
of Oronoco, Mo., and a sister, Carolyn Hilburn of Longview.
Named honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Young, Royce L. Hugdins III, Barry More, Charlie Green, Mike
Tuttle, and Pat Howard.
