a 39-year Camarillo resident passed away on Friday
Nov. 10 2000 after a brief illness.
William was born in Pikeville Ky. on Jan. 4 1919.
He served as a pilot in the United States Marine
Corps for 27 years earning the rank of major
before his honorable discharge in 1967. He was a
veteran of three wars. After his retirement from
the Marine Corps he worked in the electronics
field for 18 years with General Electric and
Philips Electronics. During his later years Bill
and his wife Jeri traveled extensively both in the
United States and abroad. Bill was a devoted
husband and father. Throughout the years he was
active with Teen Hotline Pleasant Valley Boys
Baseball Cub Scouts the California Youth Authority
and in his church. Bill never met a stranger and
was always willing to help those in need. He was
greatly loved and respected by all who knew him.
Bill will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Jeri
Buskirk of Camarillo; daughter Diana (husband
Jack) Jacobs of Danville Calif.; sons Dr. Steven
(wife Beth) Buskirk of Laramie Wyo. Robert G.
(wife Julie) Harris of Evansville Ind. Bill K.
(wife Lynette) Buskirk of Camarillo and Erin (wife
Nadine) Buskirk of Springfield Mo.; and
grandchildren Reid Buskirk Jim Wheeler Katie
Wheeler Joanna Harris and Sarah Bunde.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday
Nov. 16 at Pierce Bros. Griffin Chapel.
Immediately after visitation a memorial service
will take place at 7 p.m. in Camarillo Jubilee
Church 1169 Calle Suerte Camarillo.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made
in Bill's name to Camarillo Hospice 400 Rosewood
Ave. Suite 102 Camarillo CA 93010.
