More detail on this person: James Thaddeus Butcher, 87, of Sherwood, retired as a colonel from
the Air Force, died Saturday, March 26, 2011.
He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War. After retirement from the
military, he was a home builder in Sherwood and North Little Rock.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Kathryn Golden Butcher; and a son, Stephen
Maxwell Butcher.
He is survived by three children, Susan Blair and husband Steve of Little Rock, Beth Butcher of
North Little Rock, Thad Butcher and wife Kelli of Rogers and Emily Waters and husband Bruce of
Sherwood; five grandchildren, Sarah McKelvain, Andrew Blair, Jackson Blair, Zachary Butcher and Erin
Butcher; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral with military honors was held March 31 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in
North Little Rock. The Rev. James Bennett of New Life Church officiated.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Veteran Re-entry program at St. Francis Ministries
in Little Rock.
