More detail on this person: Col Barfoot was also an Army Aviator among those carefully selected to attend flight school as a Lt Col. He became the commander of the 501st Aviation Bn in the 1st Armored Div where I knew him as a new Captain. In those days the Mohawk & ASTA Plt were getting lots of attention. He was indeed resolute, a quality he carried for life. His son was a CH-47 pilot in the 101st Abn Div as a Warrant Officer.
