More detail on this person: Dad was what the Navy called a mustang. He was enlisted E-1 to E-6
as a Medic. The began asking for helicopter pilots at Rucker and he got in. He flew in Korea in 55
or 56 as a warrant W-1 thru W-4 (H57's). When Vietam started up they offered him a first Lt. slot
along with three other warrants. He turned them down and took a second Lt.slot and went over in 63.
( I don't know the unit. ) He went baclk again in 67-68 as a Capt. ( 200th Pachyderm.) They got
shot up pretty good while there and later in his tour he brought a ship of wounded in and walked out
of the hanger and had a stress related heart attack. He want back for a third tour in 71. Mackvee.
He died of a heart attack in his sleep in '94. The other three warrants that were offered and took
the first lt. slot were all R.I.F.ed after that first tour. Dad was a Major for his last tour and
was head of transportation at Ft. Jackson upon returning from his last tour until he retired. This information was last updated 05/18/2016
