More detail on this person: Glenn Garrison Benton, 50, of 321 Longview Drive, Fayetteville, died
Tuesday in Womack Army Medical Center on Fort Bragg.
He was a retired Army chief warrant officer who served as a helicopter pilot in Korea. Mr. Benton
served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the American
Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel by the
Rev. Randy White. Burial will be in Main Post Cemetery on Fort Bragg.
Mr. Benton is survived by his wife, Barbara Croom-Benton of Fayetteville; a daughter, Christina E.
Benton of Fayetteville; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman G. Benton of Rio Rancho, N.M.; and Sharon
Papp of Alaska.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
