Services for Russell H. Blanchard, 50, of 200 Betsinger Road, who died Saturday from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in the town of Lebanon, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, 260 Main St., Oneida. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.

Mr. Blanchard was a native of Oneida. At the time of his death, he was owner and operator of a custom contracting and cabinet making firm.

Mr. Blanchard retired in 1977 as a major after serving 21 years with the Army. He was a graduate of Officer's Candidate School and the United States Army Aviation School in 1964. He served as an aviation officer for two tours of duty in Vietnam and one tour in Germany. He received the Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit and the Good Conduct Medal.

After retiring from the Army, Mr. Blanchard was employed with the Oneida City School District, Metropolitan Insurance Co. and Pratt Realty Co.

Mr. Blanchard was a 1956 graduate of Oneida High School and received his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Tampa.

Mr. Blanchard was a member and former trustee and treasurer of the First United Methodist Church of Oneida.

Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Frisbie; a daughter, Shawn Barbano of Oneida; a brother, Gordon L. of Oneida; two nieces; a nephew; and a grandnephew.

Contributions may be made to the memorial fund of the First United Methodist Church of Oneida.
