More detail on this person: Retired Army Capt. George William ''Bill'' Boswell of Renton died of cancer Oct. 2, 2002, in Renton. He was 64.

Born Sept. 18, 1938, in Seattle, he married Karen Anderson June 27, 1980, and lived in Renton for 25 years.

Mr. Boswell retired from the Army as a pilot, after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Renton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1263, Rose Hill Grand Lodge of Georgia, Alpenlite Travel Club; and Puget Pullers Travel Club. He enjoyed traveling, playing the accordion, singing, eating out and teaching his grandchildren to dance.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bridget Bowman; and brothers Barry Boswell and Warren Boswell. He is survived by his wife, Karen Boswell of Renton; sons Bill Boswell of Forsyth, Ga., and Carl Ray Boswell of Viera, Fla.; daughters Ruth Ann Conway of Leesburg, Va., Debbie Lewis of Colorado Springs, Colo., Stacey Kneer of Renton and Cindy Webb of Maple Valley; brothers John Boswell, sisters Marylou, Virginia and Carole; and 18 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Greenwood Funeral Home in Renton. Private inurnment will be at Tahoma National Cemetery in Maple Valley.
