Delos Buford, our devoted husband and father, age
62, returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday,
September 8, 1999 after a brave battle with
cancer. He was surrounded by friends and loved
ones.
He was born April 1, 1937, in Kansas City, MO.,
the son of Hayden Lewis and Ruth Marie Cracraft
Buford of Redding, CA. He was sealed for all time
and eternity to his sweetheart, Sharon LaRee
Parsons on August 26, 1960 in the Los Angeles
LDS Temple.
Lauren is survived by his wife; five children: L.
Troy (Marylynne) Buford, Mark Buford, Shauna
(Ray) Maxwell, Heather M. Porter, and Shannon
(Brent) Rose; a sister, Chloe Gradolph; 14
grandchildren, and his parents.
Lauren attended Analy High School of Sebastopol,
CA., and later graduated from Emery Riddle
Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL., with
a degree in flight technology. He also served a
lengthy military career, commencing in February
1955 until his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel
on December 1, 1988. Lauren functioned as a dual
rated aviator in the aircraft maintenance field.
He took great pride serving with the soldiers of
the U.S. Army, as he served two tours to Vietnam.
Lauren was very active in the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many
positions of responsibility and loved serving his
Heavenly Father and his fellow men.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday,
September 11, 1999 at 1 p.m. at the Bountiful
Heights Ward, 1000 East 165 South. There will be a
viewing on the evening of Friday, September 10,
1999 from 7-9 p.m. at the Russon Brothers
Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and again
Saturday, the 11th, at the ward one hour prior to
the services. Interment-Lakeivew Memorial Estates.
