More detail on this person: TH-55A observed
unusual engine sounds entered nose low attitude
and descended nearly vertical to ground with WOC
William R. Craycraft. Witnesses reported hearing
unusual engine sounds and then observed the
aircraft to enter a slight nose low attitude and
descend near vertical to ground impact in a wooded
area.
Investigation revealed that the engine was not
running and the main rotor RPM was 100 or below
at the time of ground contact. Reason for engine
stoppage remained undetermined.
