Cressman Jr., age 79, of Naperville, IL. passed away peacefully at his home on June 28, 2022 with his wife at his side. He was born on December 12, 1942 in Northampton, PA. to John A. Sr. and Irma R. (nee Green) Cressman. John and his family lived in Port Huron, MI while he was growing up. He graduated from Michigan State University. First Lieutenant John Cressman Jr. served his country honorably in the United States Army as a pilot with the Special Forces during the Vietnam Era. He served two tours of duty and was a highly decorated serviceman. John married Cricket (Kathy) O'Donnell on August 14, 2004. He was an importer and distributor with his company, World Wide Wine. He traveled to Italy frequently for his business. He was an avid gardener, wine enthusiast and golfer. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Cricket (Kathy) Cressman; his son, Jordan (Nicole) Cressman; his grandchildren, Jaxyn and Presley Cressman; his sisters, Becky (Gary) Pelton and Ruthette (Doug) Mills; his brother, Larry (Margaret) Cressman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Irma Cressman. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Christ Church of Oak Brook, 501 Oak Brook Road, Oak Brook, IL, 60523. Pastor Rick Glyman will officiate. Inurnment with Full Military Honors will be in Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia at a later date.
