More detail on this person: Richard K. "Rick" Chesson Louisville - Richard K. "Rick" Chesson, Sr., passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Baptist Health Louisville. He was 74 years of age. Rick was born May 16, 1947, in San Francisco, CA one of three children to the late Willie Chesson and Faye Matthews Chesson. In May of 1968, Rick met the love of his life, Sandra Ford. They were joined in marriage on Friday, August 16, 1968, at Beechland Baptist Church in Louisville, celebrating 53 wonderful years together. He was retired after 29 years of service in the U.S. Army, proudly serving in Vietnam. Rick also was a supervisor for the Federal Aviation Administration. He was best described as a brave, intelligent, soft-spoken man, handy with everything and was intrigued by what Genealogy uncovered about his heritage. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded by a sister, Susanne. Rick is survived by his wife, Sandra; two sons, Keith Chesson, Jr. and Brent Chesson; grandson, Alexander Chesson; brother, Mike (Peggy) Chesson and numerous loving nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2021, at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, Louisville, KY. Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, St. Matthews was entrusted with arrangements. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2021, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, 2501 S. Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY 40160.
