More detail on this person: William R. Cox William "Bill" R. Cox, 63, of Newport, Ore. died Aug. 29, 2008 at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport. He was born July 6, 1945 to Arthur L. and Minnie L. Cox in Monahans, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Arts in engineering from the University of California-Berkeley and also received his professional engineering license. He was employed as an engineer with Lincoln County in Newport. In 1968, he served as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. On July 2, 1989, he married Dawn Brett in Lake Tahoe. In his spare time, he enjoyed muscle cars as a hobby. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Cox; son, Tyler Carter; stepdaughter, Rachel Sky; sisters, Linda Woods and Barbara Floyd of Odessa, Texas and granddaughters Electra Sky and Devine Sky.
