More detail on this person: DOVER - Martin E. Conley, 81, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, at his home in Dover, PA. He was the husband of the late Nancy Jane (Cookson) Conley who passed away March 19, 2012. Martin was born on December 29, 1943, in Darby, PA and was the son of the late Charles and Sarah Irene (Metz) Conley. Grandson of Albert and Helen Metz and Christopher and Mary Ellen Conley. He graduated in 1961 from Haverford Senior High School in Havertown, PA. He later went on to graduate from Millersville State Teachers College in Millersville, PA. He was employed as a teacher by the Northern School District in Dillsburg, PA. He later became a Tool and Die Maker and was employed by AMP/Tyco in East Berlin, PA. He attended church at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbottstown, PA. Martin proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a Lieutenant and later served with the Pennsylvania Air National Guard as a Captain. He was a member of various organizations including the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. Martin also served as a Mentor at the York County Veterans Treatment Court. Among various interests he bred Labrador Retrievers and later rescued Airedale Terriers. Martin is survived by his stepson, Scott C. Zinn and his wife, Polly of East Berlin, PA; his stepdaughter, Sonia A. Bittle and her husband, Eugene of The Villages, FL, and his brother, Christopher G. Conley, Sr. and his wife, Noreen of Havertown, PA and a niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Helen Mapes. His Memorial Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6084 West Canal Road, Abbottstown, PA. His visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Officiating will be Father Samuel E. Miller and Deacon Thomas Aumen. His burial will follow in Emanuel Cemetery in Lewisberry, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Dover, PA.
