More detail on this person: Doug Cooper passed away on October 7, 2023, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Washington Courthouse, Ohio. He attended The Ohio State University and graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University - Summa Com Laude. Doug joined the Army, became a helicopter pilot and served in the Vietnam War. He flew combat missions supporting the 101st Airborne Division and the Special Forces. There he made lifelong friends with his brothers in arms. Doug continued his military career as a research and development test pilot. After his military service, Doug began his engineering career serving as plant engineer for several large manufacturing companies in N.C. He is survived by his wife, Sue McClellan Cooper, sister Sylvia, daughter Holly Grant and family, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Doug loved his family, his military brothers, The Ohio State Buckeyes, sports cars and all animals. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Guilford County Animal Services or the Servant Center, Inc. in Greensboro, or Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point.
