More detail on this person: Ret. Maj. William L. Copeland Ret. Maj. William L. Copeland, 53, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home South Chapel with the Rev. Timothy J. Teahan officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Twickenham Memory Gardens. Mr. Copeland was retired from the Army after 23 years of service and was marketing manager at Teledyne Brown Engineering. Survivors include his wife, Shirley B. Copeland; two sons, John Paul Copeland of Huntsville and William John Copeland of Charleston, S.C.; three daughters, Theresa B. Copeland of Huntsville, Cynthia A. Brandt of Kodiak, Alaska and Angela Marie Copeland of Florida; a brother, James Barnes of St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters, Sue Gilbert, Patsy Boles and Joann Whitted, all of Heth, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home on South Memorial Parkway.
