Corn, USMC, 87 years old of Concord, NC, formerly of Fairfax, VA, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at The Gardens of Taylors Glen. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 5 until 7 pm. The funeral service will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord Chapel on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 9 am, with Pastor Larry Malament officiating. Burial will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery at 11 am. Graveside military rites will be performed. Clifford was born on April 1, 1925 in Madison County, Indiana to the late Haskell and Eula Harpol Corn. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Joan Corn. Colonel Corn served as a Marine Corps Aviator during WWII, Korea and VietNam. He is survived by: children, David Corn and wife Pat of Greensboro, Steven B. Corn of Falls Church, VA, Kim Baumgartner and husband Steve of Charlotte; grandchildren, Hilary Ross and husband Greg, Michelle Baumgartner, Allison Baumgartner, Katie Corn, Caroline Mabe, Kate Mabe; and great-grandsons, Zachary and William Ross. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Corn family.
