More detail on this person: Richard C. Carroll, Sr., age 84, of Hopkinsville, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. The family has chosen cremation with a celebration of life to be held at 12 Noon Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Gather officiating. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until funeral hour at 12:00 PM Saturday, August 5, 2023. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements. Mr. Carroll was born in Augusta, GA, on July 21, 1939, the son of the late Robert Eugene Carroll and Wilma Fay Hall Wright. CW4 Richard Carroll retired after serving 21 years in the US Army including two combat tours in Vietnam. He was also a director of marketing at Leisure System Inc. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life, Anne Marie Poston Carroll in 2010, and his stepfather, Bill "DeeDee" Wright. Survivors include his son Dick Carroll and his wife Debbie of Elkton, KY and Robert "Rick" Carroll and his wife Christy of Covington, GA; his brother, Robert "Bob" Carroll and his wife Marilyn of Denton, TX; his grandchildren, Brad Carroll, Hunter Carroll, Cody Carroll, Chelsa Carroll Mitchell, and Jared Parter; his great grandchildren, Parker, Emersyn Carroll. John Cole, Lucas, and Tatum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or Wounded Warrior Project
