More detail on this person: John B. Crites served in the U.S. Army from 1970-1974. He was a helicopter pilot who left the Army after his tour at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

John never served in Vietnam. In 1979, John joined the Coast Guard. His first assignment was Ramey AFB, Puerto Rico followed by three years as a helicopter instructor and search and rescue pilot in Milton, Florida having resided in Pensacola, Florida.

John's third tour of duty in the Coast Guard was in Michigan where he died. He did not die or serve in Vietnam. I know this because I am his widow.
