More detail on this person: Stanley B Coughran Stanley Benton Coughran, of Pleasanton , Texas , passed away on Sunday, December 18, at the age of 74. Mr. Coughran was born in Floresville to Marvin Stanley Coughran and Mabel Myers Coughran on Sept. 7, 1937 . He attended school in Pleasanton , graduating with honors from Pleasanton High School , where he lettered in multiple sports. After playing baseball with the American Legion team that summer, Stanley enrolled in Texas A&M University , where he was a member of the Corp of Cadets, "C" Field Artillery. He graduated in 1960, and received his commission in the U.S. Army. Stanley proudly served in the Army as a helicopter pilot, and continued with the Army Reserve as a pilot until 1967. After the Army, Stanley began working in insurance sales and financial planning, starting his own firm in 1978. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially on the family ranch, where he resided for the last 15 years. He was an avid skier, hunter, and fisherman. He loved to travel, and made friends wherever he went. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy Coughran, his son Kevin Coughran, and a host of friends, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton from 2-8 pm . The family will be present from 6-8 pm . Funeral services will be on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 10:00 am at the Cowboy Fellowship Church in Pleasanton , TX . He will be laid to rest next to his parents at the Fairview Cemetery between Pleasanton and Floresville.
