More detail on this person: Welby A. Carleton Welby A. Carleton, 73, Sarasota, died June 5, 2006. He was born June 28, 1932, in Berwyn, Ill., and came to Sarasota in 1980 from Panama City. He was in the Marines in the Korean War and an Army pilot in the Vietnam War. He was a Christian and a member of the Christian Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include his wife, LaNelle J.; daughters Kathleen Maloney of Sarasota and Kerry Herndon of Bruce; sons Richard W. of Panama City and Randolph A. of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother, Mike S. of San Diego; and 11 grandchildren. Private services will be later. Packer Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 3333 Clark Road, Suite 160, Sarasota, FL 34231.
