More detail on this person: Stanley R. Cinniger, 63, Enjoyed Traveling & Playing Pool Stanley R. Cinniger, 63 of Lorain died Friday evening, October 24, 2008 at the New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain following a short illness. Mr. Cinniger was born in Lorain on May 10, 1945, the son of the late Edwin A and Gladys G (nee Walsh) Cinniger. A lifelong resident, he graduated in 1963 from Lorain High School and the attended Mt. Union College. He was a member of the Christian Temple Disciples of Christ Church in Lorain, where he had served as a deacon, vice president of the Board and president of the Administration Council. Mr. Cinniger was an US Army veteran serving in Vietnam, earning the rank of Captain. He was a highly decorated helicopter pilot and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Army Aviator Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60/DVC, 14 air medals and the Army Commendation Medal. He retired on May 25, 2001 as an engineer at Lake Terminal Railroad. Mr. Cinniger was a former 2nd ward councilman and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing pool and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Monica (nee Konnerth) Cinniger, to whom he was married on October 11, 1969. He is also survived by his daughter Marleen K (Daniel) Cecil of Avon, sons Robert S (Kasey) Cinniger of Willard, Edwin J (Jennifer) Cinniger of Lorain, grandchildren; Madison K. Cecil, Carson R. Cinniger, Landon J. Cecil, JoLynn S. Cinniger, Malorie M. Cinniger, Alexis C. Moore, 9 grandchildren, brother Judge Ronald Cinniger of Portland, or and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in Christian Temple Disciples of Christ Church, 940 W. 5th Street, Lorain. The Rev. Dr. Bradley J. Donahue, pastor will officiate. The family suggest that memorial contributions maybe made to the Christian Temple Disciples of Christ Church in his memory.
