More detail on this person: James Cole LIBERTY TOWNSHIP - " James C. "J.C." Cole, 51, Liberty Township, died Saturday (Dec. 9, 2000) at his home. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at White-Love Funeral Home, Chesterton, with the Rev. Michael L. Cobbler officiating. Burial will be in Chesterton Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A combined memorial service of the VFW and American Legion will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Cole was born June 29, 1949, in Valparaiso, to Roger Lyle Cole and Hannabell Johnson Cole. His mother survives. Survivors include one brother, Roger (Debbie) Cole Jr., Eden, N.Y.; three sisters, Jean (Billy) Davis, Liberty Township, Madeline (Kenneth) Hoffman, North Canton, Ohio, and Rogetta (Thomas) Urbahns, Liberty Township; four nieces and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Cole was a bartender at McCormick Place, Chicago, and the Radisson at Star Plaza, Merrillville. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving two enlistments. He was a member of American Legion Post 170, Chesterton, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2511, Porter. He enjoyed cooking and reading.
