More detail on this person: Jack L Coots AL United States CW-3 retired Jack L. Coots died Monday May 1, 2006, at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Peters officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Military rites. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday from the funeral home. Family will receive friends during these hours. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be sent to Harvest Free Will Baptist Church, 1694 Deese Road, Ozark, AL 36360. Mr. Coots was born June 9, 1934, in West Virginia, the son of the late James and Agnes Denney Coots. Mr. Coots retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of CW-3 after 25 years of service. For 17 years he was employed with various contractors at Fort Rucker as a Flight instructor and Flight commander. He attended Harvest Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmie Coots Jr. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Coots of Ozark; one daughter, Debra Coots Whatley of Ozark; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie and Lysa Coots, Roger D. and Judy Coots, all of Ozark; one sister, Judy Ann Wise and husband Tommy of Kempter, Texas; seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Ethyel Coots of Hanover Park, Ill., Clyde and Betty Coots of Shelton, Wash., Bob and Ann Coots of Lacy, Wash., Kenneth and Debra Coots of Corsicana, Texas, Kennard and Barbara Coots of Ozark, Charles and Jewell Coots of Mobile, Gene Coots of Ozark, ; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three special friends, Carlton Carr, Larry Mobley and Owen.
