More detail on this person: Richard Campbell (Dick), age 84, of Young Harris, GA, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 20, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Dick Campbell was born on February 18, 1935 in Waterbury, VT. He was the son of the late Homer Campbell and the late Marion Beecher Campbell. He graduated from Waterbury High School and then attended Norwich University in Vermont. Dick served in the National Guard while in high school as well as the U.S. Army from 1957-1978. While in Vietnam, he flew helicopters and fixed wing aircraft, later retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. After retirement he worked in real estate, owned a limousine service, and worked a travel agency. He was also a proud member of the Lion's Club and enjoyed working at the community center in Port St. Lucie, FL. Mr. Campbell also attended Sharp Memorial United Church in Young Harris, GA. He is preceded in death by both his parents and his brother, Robert Harold Campbell. A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 11, 2020 at 11:00am from the Sharp Memorial Methodist Church in Young Harris, GA. Final interment will also be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA which will be announced at a later date. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville, GA.
