More detail on this person: Robert E. Carlile AL United States Robert E. Carlile of Dauphin Street, Enterprise, passed away Saturday morning, March 4, 2006, at the family residence following an extended illness. He was 62. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Mike Basham officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Meadowlawn Cemetery with Patterson-Sorrells Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday beginning at 1 p.m. and continuing until service time. The family asked that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the S.O.S. Animal Shelter, 25944 Highway 134-84 E., Enterprise, Ala., 36330. Mr. Carlile was born Jan. 9, 1944, in Utah to Douglas Carlile and the late Minnie L. Carlile. He was active with the Boy Scouts Troop #153 and 99. He was the director of the Genealogy Library and also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was retired from the U.S. Army as a WO4. During his Army career, he had served as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, Korea and Germany. He was serving as a helicopter instructor pilot until his illness. His mother as well as a sister, Jeanette Carlile, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Brigitte Carlile, Enterprise; one son, Chris R. Carlile, Dothan; father, Douglas Carlile, Utah; one sister, Florence Beal, Utah; two brothers, Douglas (Ray) Carlile and Milton (Lee) Carlile, both of Utah; several nieces and nephews.
