More detail on this person: HMMT-302 'Copter' Crew Perish in Crash Five HMMT-302 Marines perished when their CH-46D "Sea Knight" helicopter crashed in a mountainous area about 15 miles west of Los Banos. The tandem-rotor 'chopper' was one of two HMMT-302 aircraft on a cross-country training flight to Crissy Army Air Facility, Presidio of San Francisco, when radio contact was lost during inclement weather about 2 p.m. The second "Sea Knight" landed safely at NAS Lemoore. The dead are Maj. Wiley R. Cable, pilot, 1st Lt. John L. Mills II, co-pilot, and L.Cpl Steven Kryzminski, crew-chief. Two passengers, Cpls. Carl W. Miller and Larry K. Bumgardner, were also killed. Memorial services were held in the MCAF Chapel at 4 p.m. Tuesday by Chaplains J.N. Geary and W.W. Bartlett.
