More detail on this person: CLARK, EGBERT BAILEY, III "Bud" (Age 74) Of Alexandria, VA, died Friday, June 28, 2002 at Mt. Vernon Hospital. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret E. Clark. He is survived by his children, Jon (Laurel) Clark of Houston, TX, David (Tyler) Clark of Kingsport, TN, Vicky (Tom) Berkemeyer of Hilliard, OH and Meg (Raf) Clark of Alexandria, VA; 10 grandchildren and many friends and relatives. Bud spent his life in service to his country. He was drafted at the end of World War II and served in the U.S. Army for 31 years, retiring as a colonel. He commanded a tank company in Korea, an airborne cavalry squadron in Vietnam and an armored cavalry regiment in Germany. He received the Silver Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross, four Legion of Merit awards, four Bronze Stars with Valor, four Air Medals and two Army Commendation Medals. He was a kind and giving man and will be missed by all. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 13, 12:30 p.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 8009 Ft. Hunt Rd., Alexandria, VA, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. A service will also be held on Wednesday, August 14, 9 a.m. at Ft. Myer Old Post Chapel, followed by burial with Full Military Honors at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
