He is survived by his wife, Ann Cook, of Palm Valley, son, David Johnston Cook, Jr. of Jacksonville, Fl, son Daniel Joseph Cook of Asheville, NC, stepdaughter Jillian Lineberger of Jacksonville Beach, stepson John Easton of Jacksonville, Fl. David served his country for many years as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam for the Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Colonel in the Army National Guard here in Jacksonville. His infectious laugh will be greatly missed by his family, compatriots, and friends. He loved his flying, fishing, hunting, scuba diving and partying. The many lives he touched will forever have wonderful memories of his presence. A memorial and celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Hall in Palm Valley on Saturday, November 20th at 3 pm.
