More detail on this person: If it helps, my
godparents were Millie and Joe Gayheart (sp?) in
Dothan, AL whom I believe was in my father's
company. Sorry if I have the terminology wrong.
I vaguely remember seeing slides he took with DMZ
but no recollection of what else was on the sign
and I believe I remember China Beach being in one
of the slides. I know he was wounded during one
of his evacuation missions and took a bayonet to
the left thigh. I believe he received a Purple
Heart for it but not sure. Burial information: Centre County Memorial Park, State College, PA

My father passed away August 25 or 27, 1975 while
on a job for the Department of the Interior
surveying migratory waterfowl in Saskatchewan,
Canada. Not sure if I spelled that correctly
either. I was four years old and my brother had
just turned one, so I'm sorry I don't know the
exact date. My mother rarely speaks of him, I
don't fault her, but I would love information
about him and the type of guy he was. At least
with his family he went by Mike.
