More detail on this person: Major (Ret.) Hugh L. Crabtree (77) passed away on January 10, 2021 at Twin Cities Hospital, Niceville, FL. Born on March 1, 1943 in Abingdon, Virginia, Hugh was the son of Homer and Lou Crabtree. He graduated from Virginia Tech (1964) as a member of the Corps of Cadets. Upon graduation, he was commissioned into the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for 22 years. While in the USAF, Hugh flew B52s, as well as various rotary wing aircraft and completed several missions in the Vietnam War. Also while serving, he completed his Masters Degree in Management from Webster College, Missouri. After his retirement from the USAF, Hugh started his second career at ERA Aviations, where he flew helicopters for twenty years. Hugh was a devoted family man who leaves a legacy of love behind. An Internment of Ashes service will be held this summer in Abingdon, Virginia.
