More detail on this person: Mr. Leland Lloyd Crumpler Mr. Leland Lloyd Crumpler, 68, of Martinez, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Doctor's Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 4:00 PM at Platt's Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. William F. Harrell officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida. Lloyd was born on June 8, 1941 to Leland Aris Sexton and Mattie Belle Sexton Crumpler. He was a longtime resident of Pensacola and Augusta, and worshipped at Abilene Baptist Church. He was a US Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War as a helicopter pilot. In addition to his church involvement, he had a love of cars, flying, and entertaining others with his quick wit. The most important aspect of his life was his devotion to his family. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Ann Crumpler, a daughter, Sheri Anderson, a grandson, Chandler Anderson, a brother, John R. Crumpler, and a sister, Carol Ann Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland Aris Sexton and Mattie Belle Sexton Crumpler, and his step father, James Porter Crumpler. If so desired, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1899 Central Avenue, Augusta, Georgia, 30904. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon, April 8 from 3:00 PM until service time.
