More detail on this person: Cecil W. Culpepper, Jr., 76, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Karl Kling and Dr. Gerald A. Little officiating. Interment will be at Tallahassee National Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at First Presbyterian Church. Cecil Wallace Culpepper, Jr. was born October 3, 1941 in Lambert, MS, the son of Cecil Wallace Culpepper, Sr. and Helon Taylor Culpepper. He married Mary H. "Sissie" Williford in 1966. Cecil earned an Education Specialist Degree and taught on the college level. He retired from Mississippi Delta Community College. Serving others was Cecil's nature. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a helicopter pilot in the United States Army and in the churches he dearly loved, First Baptist of Inverness, MS and First Presbyterian of Bainbridge, GA. He was a skilled craftsman and his woodworking projects were completed with love. Fishing was a favorite pastime where Cecil could relax and spin a few tall tales of the big one that got away. Survivors include his children, Beth Keating and her husband, Cochran, and Ryan Culpepper and his wife, Heather, all of Tallahassee, FL; his grandchildren, Casey Keating, Paige Keating, Katelyn Culpepper and Nolan Culpepper; and his sister, Elizabeth Ann Huggins of Woodstock, GA. In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary H. "Sissie" Culpepper; and his brother-in-law, Howard Huggins. Ivey Funeral Home, Bainbridge, Georgia.
