More detail on this person: Retired Marine Killed in Crash Loup City, Neb. - A one-car accident claimed the life of a 31-year-old former Marine helicopter pilot. The victim was Norbert J. Chilewski, 31, who served two tours of duty in Vietnam before returning to Loup City to farm with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Chilewski, 2 ½ years ago. Chilewski, a graduate of Loup City High School, attended the University of Nebraska for three years before entering the Marines in 1961. He left active duty for health reasons 2 ½ years ago and was formally retired with the rank of captain only a month ago, said the family. Survivors in addition to his parents include his brother, Kenneth of Loup City; two sisters, Mrs. Arleta J. Levering of Grand Island and Mrs. Adeline Wiley of Broken Bow; and his grandmother, Mrs. Agnes Chilewski of Loup City. Services will be at the Steele-Pospisil Mortuary here.
